QUICK TIPS

Arrive 10 minutes early to sign in and get yourself settled.

A sticky mat is advised. We will have mats available for purchase and a limited number for use in the studio.

Be courteous to fellow yogis and enter the studio quietly.

Classes begin on time.

Please bring a towel if you sweat a lot, and wipe the floor around you before leaving class.

Do not strain or continue holding any yoga posture if it causes pain. Yoga is not a competitive sport, and the extent of the stretch is less important than the technique.

Yoga relaxes and, by relaxing, heals. The heartbeat slows, respiration decreases, blood pressure decreases. The body seizes this chance to turn on the healing mechanisms.

There are a wide variety of Hatha Yoga styles with each emphasizing different body postures and breathing techniques assisting internal body functions, and increasing circulation. We offer daily classes in various Hatha Yoga Styles for all levels of practice.

Back Care Basics
Is your back killing you? Have you tried just about everything? Has your chiropractor, doctor or physical therapist mentioned yoga more than once? Strength and flexibility of the back is important for the overall health of the spine. Unfortunately much of what we do exasperates the condition of our backs. It's time to drop any ideas of what you think yoga is about and give it a try. Learn how to ease back pain and release tension. SUGGESTED DONATION IS $10 A A PORTION WILL GO TO PLATEAU OUTREACH MINISTRIES.
Second Thursday of each month @ 7:30-8:45pm (No August Class)

Deep Stretch &Relaxation
When we are deeply relaxed, the body and mind are refreshed and revitalized. This brings many benefits that are both immediate and long lasting. Some major health benefits of regular relaxation include:

• Lower blood pressure
• Better sleep
• Less anxiety
• Faster healing
• Decreased use of drugs, alcohol and cigarettes
• Lower cholesterol
• Stronger immune response

Developing principles of mindfulness as a way to become centered within ourselves through yoga asana, relaxation, meditation and deep yogic sleep (yoga Nidra). Relieve body stiffness through gentle yoga poses and discover a relaxation posture that works for you. You don't have to sit cross legged with your knees, hips and or ankles screaming for release. (Use as many blankets, bolsters and blocks as needed, we also have chairs available.) GREAT FOR EVERYONE!

Gentle/Therapeutic Yoga
Regular yoga practice can help reduce anxiety and aid in weight loss. Many yoga postures stimulate sluggish glands thereby regulating the metabolisms. The deep breathing increases oxygen in the cells leading to more fat cells burning up. A decrease in stress levels reduces the production of cortisol thereby reducing the fat that accumulates in our midsection.

We will explore the use of props in order to make poses more accessible. This is a terrific class for seniors, those recovering from injury or illness and all beginners. Slow down, breath and reduce stress. GREAT CLASS FOR BEGINNERS!

Lunchtime Yoga
A great way to re-energize as you take a break from your hectic day and enjoy 45 minutes of yoga and relaxation. We invite you to make the commitment to nurturing yourself and reaping the rewards of longer, stronger, more flexible muscles, a toned body and calm mind. Next time your spouse, boss or employees annoy you, you'll just smile to yourself and say "this too shall pass". GREAT CLASS FOR BEGINNERS

Slow Flow
Discover the power of small change. Reasonable expectations for yourself produce more sustainable results. We're familiar with the failure rate of crash diets. The same rules apply for behavior change. Small subtle shifts in attitude and behavior are enough to produce big results. Our brains and bodies need time to digest. Reshaping ourselves doesn't require a sledge hammer. It requires a regular yoga practice, and the payoff is huge. Benefits include weight loss, stress reduction, increased flexibility and range of motion, stronger muscles, a calmer mind and much more. Give a slower pace a try and experience being in the yoga pose rather than just going through the motions. GREAT CLASS FOR BEGINNERS

Yoga Basics
Get ready to take your practice seriously but yourself lightly as you explore yoga, discovering your strength and awakening your spirit! Yoga helps cultivate:

• strength
• endurance
• flexibility
• balance
• focus
• serenity

This basic yoga class will sculpt, tone and hone the muscles of your body and your mind. Emphasis is placed on the cultivation of core strength, balance, breath control, and flexibility through focus and concentration. Some slow guided sun salutations. A great way to prepare for more strenuous Power Flow classes. BEGINNERS WELCOME!

Power Flow
You don’t need to be Gumby to do this style of yoga. You will develop strength and flexibility in increments, and see dramatic results as you continue to practice regularly. It can reshape your body and mind! Yes you may even loose weight.

Power Yoga increases internal body heat (killing off bacteria), and creates a heightened state of awareness of the workings of your body. Focus is on the coordination of the breath with movement, connecting your body, heart, mind and spirit at their deepest levels!

Power Yoga has great benefits for athletes and is the fitness regimen used by many professional and amateur athletes, as well as actors and actresses, young and old, men and women.

Power Yoga works! You'll feel stronger, more flexible and more relaxed. Give it a try.

Modifications will be offered allowing even the beginning student to attend. These classes move at a significantly faster and more constant pace. Should be physically fit and have experience moving in and out of sun salutations.
