Yoga Intro - Jean Hoiland
For a healthy body and peaceful mind, few activities give
as much ‘bang for your buck’ as yoga. Combining
all the goodness of several stress management techniques,
such as diaphragmatic breathing, meditation, stretching and
more, yoga provides some of the best stress management and
health benefits you can find in a single class. Through yoga
you'll strengthen and tone muscles, develop greater range
of motion in the joints, ease stress and tension, calm the
mind and open the heart. This class is aimed at teacher some
of the very basics of yoga, breathing and calming the mind.

What
You Always Wanted to Know - Ron
Jorgensen
•
Why are we here?
• Is there a soul mate for each one of us?
• Why do bad things happen to good people?
• Do we truly have choices or is it all destiny unfolding?
• Are the divisive conditions of extreme wealth and
extreme poverty just the way things are?
• How does one handle the tension between self-fulfillment
and service to others we love?
• Is the way religious or spiritual or . . . something
else?
Sunday 10/7/2007 @ 3:00-6:00pm $35
Establishing
Peace - Ron Jorgensen
Among
a sea of other benefits, the establishment of peace in a person
may generate truly productive and happily fulfilling days.
But, you might say, that is something only for sages and saints.
Meditations are not just relief from the general craziness
of life, rather they are probing actions for solutions.
It’s
not effective, useful, or practical if what you learn only
works a little bit or for a little while, then gradually gets
overwhelmed by our surroundings in their ubiquitous and tireless
nagging, uneasiness, and nervous knee-jerk reactions around
and in us. Rather the other way around. That is, our all too
familiar characteristics and tendencies are overwhelmed and
get absorbed by the established peace. In that new condition,
accomplishment finds itself.

Workshops with Isabelle Casey (formerly
Isabelle Sturgul)
Isabelle has been studying and practicing yoga since she was
in her teens. Most recently she ran the Seattle Athletic Clubs
yoga program and taught at Shakti Vinyasa in Ballard (recently
voted best in Seattle). She has trained extensively with Baron
Baptiste and has a very welcoming style. She will feel like
family to you.
Ever since the first time ISABELLE, (formerly Isabelle Sturgul),
placed her hands on a yoga mat, she knew that this was her
path to finding balance. As her appreciation and experience
deepened, so did her passion to share it with others. Her
understanding for the physical components of the yoga practice
stem from a foundation of gymnastics as well as traditional
hatha yoga training. She is trained in the traditional system
of Astanga (Eight limbs of yoga) and Baptiste Power Vinyasa.
Isabelle is a seasoned instructor known for her positive and
encouraging style of sharing yoga knowledge and applying it
to real life. She brings attention to building inner heat
(tapas), while honoring individual’s needs through traditional
breath work and postures. Her classes incorporate the physical
and spiritual facets of the yoga practice while inviting harmony
through creativity.
Vinyasa
Flow
Saturday 12/15/2007
2:00-4:00pm $30
Finding the rhythm within our practice allows
us to investigate how the basics of yoga work together to
create fluidity. When we find that perfect balance in the
flow, we are in sync with our inner most awareness, and freedom
and creative expression flow naturally. In this workshop,
we will play with the fundamentals of vinyasa yoga, while
enhancing them through creative expression.
Balancing Workshop
Sunday 12/16/2007
11:00am-1:30pm $49 (followed by a light healthy lunch,
allow until 2:20pm)
Finding balance within ourself, whether in movement or
stillness, creates confidence, grace and strength. Balance
teaches us about ourselves, how our body and mind harmonize,
as well how to recognize imbalances before they manifest to
something greater. We will investigate avenues of balance
through physical postures, and breath work, allowing our bodies
to connect back to our natural median.
